5 Principles For Problem Solving

Much of what people do is solve problems and make decisions, and they are often “under the gun”! Associates are stressed and very short of time. Consequently, when they encounter a new issue or decision they must make, they react with a decision that seemed to work before. It is easy with this approach to get stuck in a circle of solving the same problem repeatedly. Because of the difficulty associated with identifying problems before they occur, most companies do not attempt to identify problems until after they experience their effects. Companies try to discover the issues at this point to avoid recurrence. After-the-fact problem identification usually focuses on the failure mechanism rather than the root cause(s). Therefore, getting used to a structured approach to problem-solving and decision-making is often helpful, such as 5P. Not all problems will be solved by following this rational approach. However, the clear majority will be addressed.

Session Registration & Payment
- All attendees must be registered and paid for the session. Registration for each person in the room is mandatory regardless of whether the session is held onsite or virtually.
- Due to exchange rate complications, all pricing is in USD regardless of the class location.

Session Materials & Requirements
Materials – All necessary class materials will be provided. Virtual sessions will include free digital-only materials for the pre-registered attendee.
Virtual Sessions:
- A functioning camera and microphone are required for participation.
- Please ensure these are working prior to the event.
Onsite Sessions:
- A valid photo ID is required upon check-in.
- Registration ticket is not needed.
Cancellation, Refund, and Transfer Policy
- Cancellations, refunds, or transfers must be completed no later than 10 business days before the class date.
- Substitutions of attendees from the same company are permitted up to the morning of the class.
- Weather Cancellations – In the event that Honda is forced to close due to weather conditions, any on-site class that starts the day of a plant closing will be rescheduled.
