This course will assist the OJT trainer with the required skills to effectively train others on the job. Topics addressed in this hands-on course include:

Understanding adult learning concepts, communication skills that transmit the message effectively, coaching, and providing feedback. Participants will be shown how to prepare, plan and organize the training.

Course Objectives

Successful completion of this course will increase your ability to:

• Identify the OJT competencies.

• Describe the importance of listening during OJT.

• Increase information flow to enhance productivity and teamwork.

• Learn how important learning theory and styles are when training new hires and veteran associates.

• How to deliver an effective training demonstration.

• Learn skills required to effectively train others on the job.

• Understand the competencies needed by every trainer.

• Learn communication skills that transmit the message.

• Describe the importance of listening while training others on the job.

• Identify barriers to listening well.

• Listen in emotional situations.

• Increase information flow to enhance productivity and teamwork.

• Learn the four learning theories that are important to build into the training.

• Discover how important trust is during the learning process.

• Identify major factors that affect motivation.

• Learn the four steps it takes to demonstrate training processes.

• Receive observation and feedback from demonstration development.

Session Registration & Payment

  • All attendees must be registered and paid for the session. Registration for each person in the room is mandatory regardless of whether the session is held onsite or virtually.
  • Due to exchange rate complications, all pricing is in USD regardless of the class location.
  • Eventbrite fees include a charge of $0.99 per transaction plus a small credit card processing fee.

Session Materials & Requirements

Materials – All necessary class materials will be provided. Virtual sessions will include free digital-only materials for the pre-registered attendee.

Virtual Sessions:

  • A functioning camera and microphone are required for participation.
  • Please ensure these are working prior to the event.

Onsite Sessions:

  • A valid photo ID is required upon check-in.
  • Registration ticket is not needed.

Cancellation, Refund, and Transfer Policy

  • Cancellations, refunds, or transfers must be completed no later than 10 business days before the class date.
  • Substitutions of attendees from the same company are permitted up to the morning of the class.
  • Weather Cancellations – In the event that Honda is forced to close due to weather conditions, any on-site class that starts the day of a plant closing will be rescheduled. Communication

  • You will receive an email reminder from Eventbrite 24–72 hours prior to your class. If you do not receive this confirmation, please contact us immediately as your class details may have changed.
